Alfred Tchorznicki, Jr. has been sentenced to a term of between five and 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to five felony counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child last month in Dutchess County.
Tchorznicki was sentenced on Friday, July 26, and reportedly told that he "should have known the illegality of conduct" as a former state corrections officer, Joelle Morabito-Cruz, Dutchess County assistant district attorney, said.
Officials noted that Tchorznicki was arrested in September last year and was initially released on bail, but later returned to Dutchess County Jail, where he has remained through his sentencing.
In pleading guilty, Tchorznicki admitted to having no less than five digital photos of a sexual nature involving children as young as 2 or 3 years old.
The New York State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force forwarded several tips to Investigators at the Wappinger barracks on Monday, Sept. 17 last year regarding the possible possession of images containing the sexual performance of a child.
